Oikos publishes original and innovative research on all aspects of ecology, defined as organism-environment interactions at various spatiotemporal scales, so including macroecology and evolutionary ecology. Emphasis is on theoretical and empirical work aimed at generalization and synthesis across taxa, systems and ecological disciplines.

Global Trends report includes the latest official statistics on refugees, asylum-seekers, internally displaced and stateless people, as well as the number of refugees who have returned home.
Human Development Report
The annual HDR includes a range of socioeconomic statistics and analysis with the stated goal of "going beyond income to assess the level of people's long-term well-being". This database includes the statistical data from the HDRs. The reports include indicators on a range of topics including, for example, access to information and communication, urbanization, food security, women's access to education, aid flows and energy use. Each report has a thematic focus.
The World Factbook / CIA
The World Factbook provides basic intelligence on the history, people, government, economy, energy, geography, environment, communications, transportation, military, terrorism, and transnational issues for 266 world entities.
World Economic Outlook
A Survey by the IMF staff usually published twice a year. It presents IMF staff economists' analyses of global economic developments during the near and medium term. Chapters give an overview as well as more detailed analysis of the world economy; consider issues affecting industrial countries, developing countries, and economies in transition to market; and address topics of pressing current interest. Annexes, boxes, charts, and an extensive statistical appendix augment the text.

The Key Indicators Database (KIDB) is ADB's central statistical database and one of the world's most comprehensive resources for macroeconomic and social indicators from across Asia and the Pacific.
BP Statistical Review of World Energy
The site provides an annual review by BP focusing on statistical data on energy trends worldwide. Information provided includes consumption, production, and prices and can be viewed by energy type, country, or region. Reports are available for downloading and printing.
Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center
CDIAC serves the climate change-related data and information needs of users worldwide. CDIAC's holdings - all of which are available free of charge - include estimates of carbon dioxide emissions from fossil-fuel consumption and land-use changes; records of atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide and other radiatively active trace gases; carbon cycle and terrestrial carbon management datasets and analyses; global and regional climate data and time series; and analyses of land-cover/land-use change.

FAOSTAT (FAO)
Statistical information covering 210 countries and territories and 3,000 items in the areas of production, trade, food balance sheets, fertilizer, pesticides, landuse and irrigation, forest products, fishery products, population, agricultural machinery and food aid shipments. The registration service provides access to the FAOSTAT bulk download files.
Global Resource Information Database (GRID)
The Global Resource Information Database - Geneva (GRID-Geneva), is a partnership between the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and the University of Geneva (UniGe). With a team of 20 Environment Data Scientists, GRID-Geneva's main role is to transform data into information and knowledge to support the decision making process related to environmental issues.
Gross Domestic Product
The National Accounts Main Aggregates Database presents a series of analytical national accounts tables from 1970 onwards for more than 200 countries and areas of the world. It is the product of a global cooperation effort between the Economic Statistics Branch of the United Nations Statistics Division, international statistical agencies and the national statistical services of these countries and is developed in accordance with the recommendation of the Statistical Commission at its first session in 1947 that the Statistics Division should publish regularly the most recent available data on national accounts for as many countries and areas as possible. The database is updated in December of each year with newly available national accounts data for all countries and areas.

Developed by the United Nations University (UNU) World Institute for Development Research (WIDER), the World Income Inequality Database (WIID) provides information on income inequality for developed, developing, and transition countries.
World Trade Organization (WTO) Statistics
International Trade Statistics is an annual report that provides comprehensive, comparable and up-to-date statistics on trade in merchandise and commercial services for an assessment of world trade flows by country, region and main product groups or service categories. The overview explains the main features of trade for the past year, an outlook towards trade in the current year, global trade and output developments, and more.
