TNC JSTOR Overview: Home

This guide provides TNC researchers with information on the JSTOR platform specific to TNC's subscription. It also helps users learn about platform features and functionality, and determine whether JSTOR can aid in their research.

Vendor Summary

JSTOR was founded in 1994 in association with the Melon Foundation and the University of Michigan, and joined ITHAKA in 2009, a non-profit focused on access to knowledge and education through technology.  JSTOR specifically works with academic libraries and publishers to connect users with content and preserve materials across 75 disciplines:  

  • 12 million academic journal articles 

  • 100,000 e-books 

  • Millions of images 

  • Digitized primary source materials

The TNC E-Collection provides users with access to the JSTOR Life Sciences Collection as well as JSTOR's open access materials. For more, see below for general information on JSTOR's platform and go to the "Subscriptions" tab for subscription details.  

Subscription Access

Connect to TNC's VPN and then select the link here to search for e-resources through JSTOR. If VPN access is unavailable, please go to the "Journal Access" page on Connect for alternative login instructions.

JSTOR's platform includes numerous features that enable efficient research:

  • Create a personal account to customize your JSTOR experience

  • Use associated links to view other materials by the same author 

  • Expedite research with Text Analyzer, an emerging AI tool that returns relevant search results based on uploaded documents and images
